put those stupid cardboard box/slip covers over the actual dvd case if you want to spend extra money figure out a way to keep the dvd on the little spindle thing so it doesn't fall off and get all scratched to hell during shipping or instead of a stupid slipcover include something fun like a flipbook, or a pinwheel something like that...there is no point to the cover over the cover..And please stop saying shit like special collectors edition on the box...its not baseball cards, coins, stamps, action figures etc...34 hour ghetto compilations are not for collectors

special collectors edition indeed. i just threw away about $500 worth of dvd's. who's gonna buy that shit really? and who wants to keep that shit? there's only so many times one can watch devinn lane in wicked sex party.

I agree with you but if the store leaves them on, they really stand out on the shelf. If the stores would ALL just remove them, then nobody would keep spending money on them.

Personally, I like the slip covers, I think they really "dress up" the DVD. Good packaging can really help sell a product, even if the product's pretty shitty. Kinda goes along the same lines as cooking.... presentation is extremely important.

i just don't see the point when the slipcovers have exactly the same images as the actual dvd box itself? if they make the packaging something different and unique i'm all for it..however i think evasive just gets it all wrong and goes for cheap ways to try and get sales..like when they switched to plastic cases instead of cardboard for their vhs..they just used the dvd insert in the plastic vhs case..it just didnt fit right and looked ghetto as all hell. if you're going to use slipcovers at least make them stand out a bit..give the consumer something special instead of another copy of the dvd insert..i guess they could keep the dvd by the tv and take the slipcover into the bathroom to jack it to

i thought wicked made one soft, the other hard? that would make sense...

o card = hard (for stroke shops, etc.)

inside cover = soft (for places like fry's, etc.)





edit to add: i can see that being a point, but on mainstream movies it's really redundant. i just bought phantasm and it added nothing other than something else for me to throw away...

I don't agree with that. If you have one DVD without a cover, the other with, the one with the cover stands out to me.

With that said, I do know some stores don't use them due to the security features they add to the box.

I can take them or leave them if it came down to it, but I do agree that it would be better if the slip cover gave something extra, rather than just the same cover that is inside.

The problem is, one company started this and being that the rest of the industry does not have brains for themselves, they are rushing to copy everyone else. Just like they did with foil, and the one girl full photo on the box cover, the company logo in a black band across the top, and so on.
