I am not sure what the laws are but if some one were intentionally spreading my real name around I would seek legal council to put a stop to it. successful or not it would be a drama for them to deal with.

I think there was a lawsuit but I don't know on what basis, or if it ever got to trial to test the merits. An unlisted phone number is not part of the public record until made public. California probably has stronger anti-stalking laws than most states. There may be something else. I do it for the simple reason that it's hard for me to relax and be myself on-air while using another name.
