Since no one else has picked up on Mary's appearance on PrimeTimeUncensored, allow me to pull the highlights from Gene Ross's piece on AdultFYI.com I've spent time with Mary over the years, so I know just what a flake she is off camera. I like Mary and she isnt retarted or dumb. I met her last year at the Free Speech Coalition's Lobbying Days. We were actually paired up to walk the Capitol and lobby different legislators. They literally fought to make sure that Mary paid a visit to their office.
This year we were paired again and I got a chance to know her a little better this time. Howard, her ex, wasnt around riding shotgun.
Overall, Mary is a bright woman. She does know how to get media attention and Mark @ KickAss did a great job promoting her and teaching her to talk in sound bites. She is not retarded nor is she dumb. She plays it rather well though, but she does have issues and is currently in casting for Celeb Rehab which should air on VH1 later this year.
Mary is taking the rehab seriously and wants to use it as a way to get better. She has more potential to cross over than many other girls in the industry. She already has the contacts and knows how to use them.
Her image is stuck though and it needs to be seriously revamped. She is quite talented. She's friendly and outgoing and has a unique way of breaking down people's walls when talking to them and she does it disarmingly. She did a great job lobbying for the industry. She really was the only female performer there this year. She takes it seriously. How many "porngirls" would fly from Miami to Sacramento after feature dancing for 4 days just to talk to some old grumpy guys for no pay for 2 days ? I give her credit for caring about the industry.
She's going to be starting a show on PrimeTimeUncensored.com on May 14th @ 5pm. Im not sure how long it will last (hands clasped praying) because she will be shooting for VH1 within the next couple of months.
Perhaps we will see a "new" Mary Carey or perhaps not. Either way, she is entertaining. She might be a trainwreck at times, but she is not dumb.

Michael, you're in the unfortunate situation of having to be nice to everyone. In Mary's case, I would suggest she adopt the Lincoln approach: better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

C'mon, Mary is a joke. Has she shot a scene in the last 12 months? She lost to Gary Fucking Coleman. The only people who voted for her are probably the same people that elected the class nerd as student government president in high school. Her only ongoing mainstream connection is Howard "no K" Stern, who himself is increasingly marginalized, and he only has her on the show to make fun of her. Michael, I respect that you need to defend her, God knows she needs some normal people near her to steer her back to reality. Willie- if Michael is talking about name recognition, then there are people who know Mary Carey's name who don't know porn. They laugh at her, but Paris followed the same paradigm. Of course Paris has publcists like Dan Klores and Eliot Mintz, which helps alot.
When it comes to cross over potential, I stick by my assesment that Ava and Mia have some potential based on their being porn star siblings. I could see them on a VH1 show or something of that Ilk. Sadly, I don't think they will get their act together before that window of opportunity closes.

Trust me I dont have to be nice to everyone, that's not my job, I prefer not to be. Actually, my job is to be the pitbull that wont let go.
Im not saying she's Einstein, or that she's going to end world hunger or find a cure for cancer. Yes, she has issues and demons. Most, if not all of us in the industry do, even those that contribute on porn message boards.
Moxie, of all people, who calls himself Captain-Save-A-Ho and steers prosties into education, you should realize not all whores (and I also use that term here loosely as well) have no redeeming qualities. Some do. Mary is one that does. She has a way that doesnt show up in the tabloids or in porn. Its sometimes hard to tell though. The best description for it would be to say she is engaging. There are Sentors and Assemblypeople that love this girl.
Moronboy - one of the aspects of rehab is to be open and honest with your addiction. Did you see the drunk Hasselhoff video ? So having it filmed is not that far off. AA meetings are very open.
