I had a long evening flight from Gatwick last night. The inflight movies usually suck on the way back. It ended up being The Pursuit of Happiness. It did not suck. In fact I can't stop thinking about the story and I'm going to get Chris Gardner's book now.
The title comes from Thomas Jefferson's contribution to the Declaration of Independence. If you haven't read the Declaration in a while, take a moment and do so. Such a dramatic, arrogant proclamation. If you want to know what America is about, thats the begining and end of story.
Getting back to the movie, it just astounds me that anyone could keep going despite all the obstacles this man faced. In America you can't have bad luck every day. If you wake up every day looking to succeed, eventually you will.
