A 10 pump will do some major damage and possibly kill a human with good shot placement. A CO2 gun will probably just puncture or sting. A bottom-of-the-line spring-loaded one like a Daisy Red Rider will probably bounce off. Pellet v. BB also plays a big part. Depends what the kid had.
