There is a book called "The Damage Done" that is about a guys stay in Bangkwan prison (the worst in all of Thailand). The horror stories this guy has will leave you with your mouth hanging open.

He said the food was so terrible that they would feed it to the roaches and fatten them up so they could eat the roaches for a better meals. Or they would make them get down into a sewage tank, up to their necks and stay in there for hours. Of course this would make them terribly ill, so then they beat them with clubs for getting sick.

This prison is STILL OPEN today!!! Has a nic name of The Bangkok Hilton.
