i believe the sodium caseinate is derived from milk. i'm actually not sure if they consider it dairy or non-dairy, but my littlest has a super-severe milk allergy so i know that cool whip is off limits to him (because of that milk protein in it) which makes it a dairy product as far as my uses of it go.
