It took me awhile to come back to porn after I had to retire. Working at a company that shot non-condom was a difficult choice for me. I reason it out because EA is one of the few truly hardcore companies with such a firm stance against anal creampies - the only method of transmission of HIV that I'm aware of happening in this business.
Since I got HIV, the standards of testing changed and became MUCH more strict. The Darren James thing was really fucked up, but the only girls who were infected did creampie scenes with Darren. So after that outbreak, Evil Angel stopped shooting creampies but continued to shoot non-condom. We were also one of the few hardcore companies who completely abode the shooting moratorium.

Joey DID shoot non-condom in Brazil a few times. The performers did DNA tests for HIV first - the same tests we require in the US for non-condom shoots.

You're right. We have a decent amount of money. (not crazy rich, but we own some property and have enough invested that if we retired tomorrow, we'd be alright) We're not extravagant in our personal expenses, but we do donate a decent amount of money. A lot to performer care (through AIM or to the individual health funds that come up for performers like Jessica Dee or more recently Nicki Hunter), a lot to HIV/AIDS care and research, a lot to free-speach, a lot to libertarian causes.
If Evil Angel shot anal creampies, we'd probably make a LOT more money. But unless we see solid evidence that anal creampies aren't as risky as we believe they are, you're not going to see them. Right now there's a poll on your favorite ADT about whether people prefer Elegant or Evil Angel, and at least one person said they prefer Elegant Angel JUST because of that. whatever.
Neither John or I came from families with a whole lot of money, and neither of us forgets where we came from. John does not own 2 Escalades and a Bentley, or a Ferrari and an Aston Martin. He could, but what's the point?
And when I do my version of splurging which amounts to buying a new Coach purse, I do so from my own bank account, not John's. None of my friends have the kind of money that John has, and I'm more comfortable around them than I am around snobby people who flaunt their money.
I'm grateful that I have John in my life for MANY reasons. He's a wonderful person and treats me amazingly well, and absolutely he makes my life easier emotionally and financially. I'll never take that for granted.
