I believe it to be true that they both test negative now. Anyone who believes HIV can't be cured should read this. Unless you really believe the "false positive" claim or think it wasn't followed up at the time. It is cureable if you have enough money. Quote:

As a result of his negative test in Phoenix, Morrison was licensed Tuesday February 20, 2007 by the West Virginia Athletic Commission and faced John Castle of Indianapolis in a four-round bout Thursday night February 22, 2007 at Mountaineer Race Track in Chester.[2] Castle (4-2, 2 KOs) had been knocked out in his last two fights. After landing few punches, and being scored behind at the end of the first round, Morrison swooped in with his trademark left hook to knock out Castle in the middle of Round 2.[3]

unless you were selling me a mattress, there's very little chance you'd interact with someone so much better than you.

i understand john's a libertarian based on who he's contributing to and it makes sense for him to want to say whatever he wants and make as much as possible redistributing the least through taxation with little corporate responsibility.

You know what, I've never thought about it like that before. Or if I have, it's been in the small hours when I've been too stoned to remember. But Jamesn makes valid points about what pornographers do as regards their best interests.
None of us is obligated to look after anyone other than number one, after all, and it would be hypocritical of me to think I was above that. The contrary argument is that everyone knows the risks, but that runs hand in hand with "it always happens to someone else".

In EA's defence, they still don't shoot anal creampies (by far the most efficient sexual method of HIV transmission due to the presence of small anal tears/fissures and blood coupled with the injection of semen means fluid-to-fluid transmission is a practical certainty, even more so if circus acts like double anal are also involved).
I'm sure they'd make a fat chunk of change if they relented, but as yet they haven't, so credit where credit is due.

It took me awhile to come back to porn after I had to retire. Working at a company that shot non-condom was a difficult choice for me. I reason it out because EA is one of the few truly hardcore companies with such a firm stance against anal creampies - the only method of transmission of HIV that I'm aware of happening in this business.
Since I got HIV, the standards of testing changed and became MUCH more strict. The Darren James thing was really fucked up, but the only girls who were infected did creampie scenes with Darren. So after that outbreak, Evil Angel stopped shooting creampies but continued to shoot non-condom. We were also one of the few hardcore companies who completely abode the shooting moratorium.
Joey DID shoot non-condom in Brazil a few times. The performers did DNA tests for HIV first - the same tests we require in the US for non-condom shoots.
You're right. We have a decent amount of money. (not crazy rich, but we own some property and have enough invested that if we retired tomorrow, we'd be alright) We're not extravagant in our personal expenses, but we do donate a decent amount of money. A lot to performer care (through AIM or to the individual health funds that come up for performers like Jessica Dee or more recently Nicki Hunter), a lot to HIV/AIDS care and research, a lot to free-speach, a lot to libertarian causes.
If Evil Angel shot anal creampies, we'd probably make a LOT more money. But unless we see solid evidence that anal creampies aren't as risky as we believe they are, you're not going to see them. Right now there's a poll on your favorite ADT about whether people prefer Elegant or Evil Angel, and at least one person said they prefer Elegant Angel JUST because of that. whatever.
Neither John or I came from families with a whole lot of money, and neither of us forgets where we came from. John does not own 2 Escalades and a Bentley, or a Ferrari and an Aston Martin. He could, but what's the point?
And when I do my version of splurging which amounts to buying a new Coach purse, I do so from my own bank account, not John's. None of my friends have the kind of money that John has, and I'm more comfortable around them than I am around snobby people who flaunt their money.
I'm grateful that I have John in my life for MANY reasons. He's a wonderful person and treats me amazingly well, and absolutely he makes my life easier emotionally and financially. I'll never take that for granted.

you've cleared some things up but you're in a world of sycophancy and you need to remember that however outspoken they are, there aren't many in your industry that don't have to interact with you as a potential employer. beyond performers, everyone's three bad months from being on top of the world to looking for work like brandon. i'll never forget how pathetic ira levine was when he was talking about your husband in an interview.
nobody's going to call you on your shit-the consumers aren't and maybe 15 people in porn outside of the internet guys have nothing to potentially gain or keep by being in your good graces. do i think you could get away with requiring talent to test 2x a month? yeah. drug test the main three that people could be using needles with? you can piss clean in 24-72 hours with all of them and people would still show up to set for a grand or to be the next bella/manuel. you'd know who couldn't stop for a period measured in hours not days and need help and also tend to be slamming stuff. you could do stuff that could prevent the next karen from happening or help take care of them if they find themselves in your situation and they can't find a safety net.
i thought you were disingenuous about giving a shit about people when objectively stuff said you didn't.
you underestimate the leverage you have to do stuff you believe in and could be giving considerably more and not feel it financially.
care about your friends and be a better person in deed than you think you are right now? good, here's the cliff's notes version for the now wealthy:
10% or close is still the golden number for being able to consider yourself philanthropic.
now that many people could gain something from you, stop thinking like the person you grew up as that didn't want to push on them to accomodate you. try gently stepping on some toes-i bet you won't find the resistance you'd always expected.
