It appears XPT's favorite sisters are going to be on an upcoming episode of the Maury show.
NEW YORK CITY - Porn star siblings Ava and Mia Rose are scheduled to appear in an upcoming episode of the syndicated daytime talk show 'Maury'. The Rose sisters are scheduled to tape their segment April 25, with the show currently set to air next month.
"I got an e-mail on my site from Maury [Povich]'s assistant, saying that they had been researching us," Mia Rose told AVN.com. "They said we were the most interesting pair of sisters they had ever seen, and they want us to tell our story about being sisters in the industry."
Mia, who celebrated her 20th birthday last weekend, said that show producers had also requested that the girls' parents appear on the broadcast. Thus far, that invitation has gone unanswered.
Rose is skeptical of the negative slant seen in recent months on ABC's 'Primetime' and the syndicated Tyra Banks show, but maintained that the sisters will handle the media differently than other X-rated performers.
Originally from Sutton, Alaska, the Rose sisters quickly gained notoriety after entering the adult industry in early 2006. Mia has since continued to pursue the gonzo route, aligning herself with Evil Angel, while Ava is currently a contract girl for Adam & Eve Pictures.
Both sisters are up for Best New Starlet at tomorrow night's XRCO Awards. Mia also nabbed XRCO nominations for Cream Dream and Best On-Screen Chemistry with Manuel Ferrara.

So.... Ava changed her mind. And told the show no... Due to phone calls from some people I am going to leave un named.... Now... All talk shows are gay... W.e we know that. someone told her that it was a career breaker... And now, I get fucked out of a lot of people seeing my site.... ! AH! Tyra Banks is a career breaker... I dissagree with the advise in regard to the Maury audience pool. There is no more localized audiences in the internet age. Get on, throw chairs, do a lesbo show, shoot someone. Do whatever you have to do to get your clip on You Tube, I-Film, VH-1 Web junk etc. Make your name more prominent and the money will follow.

No doubt someone at A&E made her see what a dumb move it would be? A&E take care of her Dan. I understand that. but it wasn't them. And, I don;t have a company watchin out for me. I am watching out for myself.... In the end, I am the only person that matters. I will always have me. Dan, as I have told others, right now is make or break for me.... I refuse to disappear like so many other porn girls who don't have the security of a contract.
And, Maury has only had one other person on his show that was in the industry. And its not the same thing really... Dennis Hoff. If you watch the episode, NOTHING bad was said.
And no bad cuts were made.

Dan, are you suggesting that their reputations could be tarnished? I don't know about that one. The only thing that can tarnish an adult performers ability to make money is rumors of a smelly pussy or viewer boredom. No matter how bad sunny Lane looked, a lot more people know who she is. And thats all that matters.
Ava's fans are not going to stop watching her movies because she looks shallow on a talk show. In fact, the humanizing effect will reignit some interest from the pervert class. But some of those in the audience will become curious about the Rose's and look into them.

I personally think that you're missing out big time if you don't do the show. It's not very often that pornstars get these kinds of chances to be shown in the mainstream media, and as long as you stick to your guns, and you don't have a complete meltdown, it's going to be good publicity. It's entirely your decision, but I can pretty much guarantee that people like Sasha Grey and Tyra Banxxx gained a lot of new fans by appearing on the shows they were on. As long as people are talking about you, good or bad, that means that you're on their mind which is ultimately the goal.

I keep reading that Ava is doing soooo well, but does Adam and Eve really do that much for her? Hasn't it been established that contract girls really don't make that much money? Yeah, I know having "Contract Girl Status" is great for featuring and escorting (not saying she's doing the latter), but what is it really doing for her straight off? Let's use Kira Kenner's contract with Vivid as an example. According to Vivid's attorney, Kira was paid 300k or less from 1999-2004. That's 60k a year. Kira only averaged 10 films a year, so her per film rate was high but the volume was too low to sustain any serious income.
The flip side is that these girls sign away their rights in perpetuity (forever). Vivid will be selling Kira Kenner condoms when she is dead and she will see nothing.
How many films has Ava done with AE? 10? Imagine that she is making 5k a film? Now how much income is that? What these girls give up to get their contracts borders on unconscionable.

Good example...I was thinking about making another thread in General Porn Talk to discuss the whole contract issue, especially when you consider the recent revelations from Aria/Marie Silva who was apparently earning around $250,000 a year as a jobbing gonzo girl (and not a particularly hot one either, IMHO).
Contracts make sense if they fit the performer, i.e. a girl that does a lot of feature dancing like Stormy Daniels will certainly benefit from the publicity push that Wicked's PR department will give her, and vice versa. There are also other benefits that very few independent girls will be offered, like residuals and signature toys/pussy moulds.
As you correctly point out, the workload is a lot less, as is the earning potential (from performance only).
However, I think there are benefits in the long run...nobody is running around talking about Kaylani Lei's asshole falling out or Lanny Barbie crapping herself in the make up chair. That's because these girls have a lot more relaxed schedule in terms of performing, ergo they don't get shot out either metaphorically or physically as quickly as an independent gonzo starlet will. We should remember though that the candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long...it's your classic hare vs. tortoise scenario, only with assfucking and facials. 
Getting back to Kira (why is there not more discussion of this case?), what is your considered legal opinion on her chances? I'm sure that Steve Hirsch has dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's in regard to their contractual obligation, but I think the STD issue on the Paul Thomas set might be a tricky one. If it's settled in court as opposed to outside of it, I think it has the potential to set an interesting precedent for the entire industry vis a vis producer liability and performer's contractual obligations...time will tell!

It's all about how you present the product, and the Maury show is evidently not the sort of presentation companies with contract girls are looking for. But seeing as they're not doing the show, it's pretty much an academic discussion now anyways...

Dan, its funny that you ask that. I've gotten a hold of about 1000 pages of legal filings and testimony. I'm going to be writting a few thoughts on the case tonight for Luke.
