Except the stated purpose of this war from the get-go was to "liberate" Baghdad, not level it. Are you saying that peaceniks tempered our President's resolve?

Wrong. One of the reasons to go to war was to liberate Iraq not just Baghdad including the Kurds in the north who are doing amazingly well since the invasion, but you don't hear much about that because it doesn't include any body counts, hence not newsworthy. Of course there were more reasons than just liberation from a brutal dictator for going to war, but I'm not rehashing all that shit. As far as me suggesting that Baghdad be turned into a divot that was a bit of an exaggeration just to point out that our military has done more to reduce civilian casualties than ever before even to the detriment of our own.

Indeed; this whole thing was very Phlog-like and it's good to have one of these donnybrooks every once in awhile to remind us that we are passionate about more than just Jenna Jameson's weight.

Absolutely true and an excellent point.

This is a better place without phlog.

Wrong. He may have expressed opposing views and presented a different perspective than you liked, but that doesn't mean this is a better place with out him. Minus the meltdown and anal lab stuff of course, outside of that he was solid.

Yep...they are stacking governmental positions with Radical Christian Zealots...especially in the Justice Dept.

I hear and read a lot of this kind of stuff here and at ADT when I lurk there. I'm not trying to start another 20 page battle about conservatives vs. liberals or dissect opposing political ideologies on porn but for all the moaning about the supposed neo-con crackdown on porn I don't see it. I wish JM Prods. and the distribution company (whose name escapes me) the best, but hasn't this kind of random prosecution of porners happened under multiple administrations over the past few decades regardless of political party? Everyone expected the sky to fall with the 2257 stuff, right? But from what I gather that's really just about ensuring that all the performers are 18 and older. Has there been any governmental misconduct through 2257s? I mean are you surprised that the government jumped in to try to make sure minors don't do porn? I can't believe it took them this long to get involved. We point out the porn industry's shortcomings daily yet expect them to be responsible enough to make sure no minors are involved? Porn is bigger than ever. There are more producers, stars, distributors, companies, fans than ever and the industry is generating more money than ever expected, right? Where is the crack down? After 6/7 years in office if Bush really wanted to shut down the adult industry do you think this is all that would happen? Max would've been behind bars already for the stuff he does and sells as his European versions, no? If I'm totally off base let me know because I don't really follow this that closely. Basically, it just seems that the general opinion that porn is under more scrutiny than any other industry by the government is a little exaggerated.
