Well, another political debate in AWOP gets personal. Seriously, sorry that a friend of yours got clipped in battle. My father drove a tank on Okinawa, he was lucky to live. His brother (my Uncle) died landing on Guadalcanal. My Mother's brother-in-law (also my Uncle) landed on Anzio Beach in Italy; and despite my obsession with WWII history, refused to talk about his experience for the rest of his life.

You sit around here and bitch about how good or bad the war in Ira(q)(n) is being won or lost. None of us have a fucking clue about what making a war sacrifice is. Did you ever not have enough sugar in your Wheaties because your ration book ran out? Have you donated your last paycheck to buying a War Bond? Have you ushered off your family to an uncertain future, possibly a coffin? We need a serious lesson in what it means to be at war, because at the present time, you part-time warmongers don't have the patience to read up on current warfighting strategy other that a few episodes of "Mail Call" with Gunny Ermey.
