Kennedy is in the process of being put in mothballs. Saw the decommissioning a couple of weeks ago. The Hawk will be next to go but we've got to successfully convince the Japanese to let us put a Nuke in Yoko. If not, then we fall back and put one at Guam.

the fucked up thing is that the brits were held under pretty bad conditions and the America before BushCorp (sorry james)would've and could've decried such conditions but Abu Graib and Guantamano Bay and our disregard for the Geneva Conventions have compromised the U.S. position to criticize such things.

If you equate the United States treatment of terrorists with Iran, then you are not worth talking to.
As for facts, what is this mistreatment at Guantanimo you speak of? too much food?
what provisions of the Geneva convention have the US not abided by? You do realize that until the Supreme Court (wrongly) decided Hamden the conventional wisdom was that the Geneva convention did not apply to terrorists.

I suggest you look a little deeper into the issue sir. I suggest you check out the work soon to be outgoing Attorney General Alberto Gonzolas did to make it legal to waterboard detainees. I also urge you to look into the whole rendition program. Does that seem to be in line with what America really stands for? Why did the Aussie only get 9 months if he was such a badass terrorist? (after being held for years of course). Did you somehow miss the whole controversy about the Bush Administration and it's disregard for the Geneva Convention?

I'm a good, old fashioned Irish-Catholic Democrat from New York, and it makes me sick to see members of my party coddling terrorists just because they Hate Bush. I can't stand Bush, but the man has done nothing wrong in the way he treats the terrorists in Guantanamo. Treats 'em too damned good, if you ask me. Probably erring on the side of caution. As for comparisons between Gitmo and Iran, or the detention of the IRGC members posing as diplomats and the kidnapping of the 15 British Sailors and Marines, the suggestion is Prima Facie absurd. I expect that kind of talk from the Eurosocialists at ADT, and have plenty of fun proving them wrong. But when members of my party remain wilfully blind to the obvious simply out of partisan hate, then I begin to question whether we're any better than the Republicans.

I really wouldn't lose sleep if Geneva was violated, or if extraordinary techniques were used to interrogate these scum. Wouldn't bother me in the least. These terrorists are criminals, part of no recognized army, and shouldn't be considered to be under the protection of Geneva. When their known rule of warfere is the indiscriminate killing of all ages, sexes and conditions, they forfeit the right to the protections of international law.

Fuck Geneva Conventions. It's real nice that we are held to a higher standard in warfare than our enemies. Ask Daniel Pearl if Geneva can reattach his head. It's nice to know that terrorist apologists (I'm looking right at you Elab & Gen. Gunk) have more concern for our enemies picked up on the battlefield and put in Guantanamo than our allies captured at sea. You guys bitch like the people in Guantanamo are saints. We've released and then recaptured some of those fuckers as they try to kill our servicemen. There is an International Red Cross station located at Guantanamo with full access.
