what's the appeal of an audiobook over sitting down to read the book?

Sheer lazieness, unless you're blind.

i drive over an hour a day in traffic and it is kinda cool in the car

but how can you concentrate on the narration whilst you're driving?

how can people have cell phone conversations whilest driving? i agree it isnt the best case scenario and maybe it is a waste of of someones fine writing...but it kinda works for me...especially when going about 10 miles an hour in rush hour bullshit...focusing on the narrative is the only thing keeping me from going GTA it feels like sometimes.

i usually listen to the "harry potter" audiotapes when i'm in the car. i was scared my kids were going to start saying shit like "pimp juice" or something.
