the actual ratings themselves mean shit, but the number of times people have bothered to rate a poster is indicative of something- either an ability to be controversial or just an inherently annoying nature.
monkey i think is the most rated poster at over 100, but he has 6000+ posts so his ratio isn't the best. at the other end of the scale are people like king, who's amiable nature means he has 3000 posts and just 21 ratings.
chick posters can't be considered as they attract votes merely because they have tits.

the only amusing things about rating posts/posters was windsock rating every post he made one star right after he posted and darth and ghostshadow appearing on the who's online screen and reflexively rating my threads one star like the small, small broken men they are.

Looks like jamesn is pretty high in that ranking with 83 rates. It's really a useless statistic except it indicates how capable you are of eliciting a response. I mean it's free as opposed to phoning in a vote for American Idol.

I have 8 rates and 2 stars. How many times must someone rate you at 2 stars before the stars appear next to your avatar. This whole rating system should be a little more transparent.

I'm not a Penn State guy. I just went to grad school at Penn State.
What do the stars actually mean? Scout.com (sports message boards) use a 5-star system as well, but someone who has a 1 or 2-star rating would be considered a below average poster. Those with 3 stars would be considered mediocre. However, it seems that on XPT, even one star indicates that the poster has a positive (above the mean) rating. Is that true.

The question here, as I understood it, is who has the most rates per number of posts. Regardless of the outcome or number of stars. So in that context, no stars is absolutely terrible, but someone with one star, 90 rates and 100 posts rocks. The rest is derivative of what I just said.

Raoul has a very high 23 rates for 600 posts. Meanwhile Eddie Norm has only 6 rates for like 4000 posts. I think alot of people assumed Raoul was reallt Fatman based on the volume of his posts and were giving 1 star. I think its become obvious that Raoul is NOT fatman and is a good poster.

palmolive has 23 ratings or so for like 230 posts, that's one rating every 10 posts, a dynamite ratio.
