When I spoke to Heather Veitch Tuesday night, she said that Sophia had a very difficult path in front of her.
I didn't realize what Heather meant until I was told Thursday that Sophia's boyfriend said Sophia had terminal cancer.
"The hardest part for me in this entire ministry," Heather told me this week, "is the serious hopelessness that I see. It's not that these girls don't want help and don't want to change. So many of them are in situations where I don't have a clue how we can get them out. The only thing that I rely upon is that I know that she knows that God loves her.
"When you get into people's lives and see the truth of what's going on and the desperation, and I can't even say, 'Just do this and everything's going to be OK.'"

1800 a session is a shitload more than she'd make on one of those 60-80k/annum contracts. now she's getting 8k to go to topeka instead of being flown there to stay in a marriott and having to sign autographs for a weekend as part of what she signed.
