Toxic Avenger-the novel: Written 20-something years after the movie was made. Lloyd Kaufman(director of the film and co-author of the book) says in the forward to think of the book as their version of a big-budget Hollywood remake of the original film. It's been quite funny, so far.

yeah, I read books for entertainment value.
