It's really funny that the "Whores are so-fucked up!" contingent is so blissfully unaware their own hypocrisy. If you devote your waking hours to jerking off to porn incessantly, and talk about porn on a message board incessantly when you're not jerking off, you needn't look further than your furthest mirror for an example of serious psychological issues. Yes, the majority of sex workers are fucked up, and you like them that way, so stop being a yeast-infected pussy by pretending otherwise.

And last, what's so wrong with saying Americans are fucked up about sex? You don't see Europeans regularly pressing obscenity charges against porn producers, do you - why's that?



I didn't conflate dissociation with psychopathology, although I could see how you would interpret it that way. The psychopath comment was just an observation that if I were looking for a female psychopath, porn valley is the first place I'd look.

I don't think its mutually exclusive to say that performers learn dissociation skills (to cope) or that fans have their own voids that they are filling. I think both are equally true.

I do think its unfortunate that people are saying "whores are fucked up". Their just different. If you really want to figure out how people tick, you cannot judge them and must look at them as if they were some alien culture that you were trying to understand.
