William Mainiero of Skidmore Road, Pleasant Valley, is scheduled to appear March 13 in Carmel Town Court to answer a misdemeanor charge of forcible touching, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. Police said that Mainiero, who knew his victim, approached her from behind inside a Mahopac Falls pizza restaurant, grabbed her buttocks then pulled her pants down to her ankles. The girl went home and told her parents, who then contacted the Sheriff's Office after the Feb. 16 incident. Police said Mainiero surrendered to Investigator Vincent Martin on Friday and was arraigned before Town Justice Joseph Spofford, who issued an order of protection that prevents him from having any contact with the girl.
