fuck i hate status symbols, essentially because if you need a status symbol you have no status to represent. the worst is people who want a german car yet can only afford the entry model, best exemplified with people who drive porsche boxters. boxters just scream out "i'm too poor to buy a 911 because i failed in life". if you've worked your whole life and the best you can get is a 3-series, don't buy a beamer. don't highlight your shortcomings thinking you're getting a status symbol.
