Fortunately, Linux operating systems give you total control over their processes, unlike that of a certain make that exercises near total control over its use, and builds an exhaustive database containing every action and movement of its users.

Furthermore, the only way to get rid of this intrusive record is to first shred the necessary content from the effected files, then shred the index.dat files. This can only be done in DOS when the operating system isn't running!
