300 is taken from a comic book and doesn't look impressive to me - even as good filmmaking(from the trailers). If your interested in Thermopylae, READ Steven Pressfield's novel "Gates Of Fire" - excellent. Also rent the "The 300 Spartans" - awful movie but, actually filmed at the pass of Thermopylae.
