HAMPTON BAYS, N.Y. (AP) -- The remains of a Long Island, New York, man have been found more than a year after his death.
Authorities say 70-year-old Vincenzo Ricardo was found in a chair in front of his television, which was still turned on. The Suffolk County medical examiner says the man apparently died of natural causes.

Police found Ricardo's body while investigating a report of burst pipes. A morgue assistant says the home's dry air had preserved the man's features.

Ricardo had lived alone since his wife's death years before. Neighbors say they assumed he was in a hospital or nursing home and hadn't thought to check on him.
