It's not that uncommon. Look at all the political commentators who loathe politics, or all the celebrity gossip sites that exist by dragging their targets through the mud.

The industry doesn't pay his bills directly, as far as I know. The consumers who want dirt on the objects of their lust are the ones who generate the hits, though plenty of "insiders" seem addicted to his game as well.
