Some of these were on the air for years yet I never found anyone that would admit to watching them. Others had a very short shelf life.

-George Carlin Show

-The Ropers

-Arrested Development (according to Fox no one watched it)

-It's Your Move

-The State

-Strangers with Candy

-Brisco County Jr (weekly Bruce Campbell is good for the soul)

-Dr Katz (loved how all the guest played themselves)

-Freaks & Geeks

-Viva Variety

-Larry Sanders Show (better then Gary's show on Showtime)

-Super Dave Osborne (funny shit)

-The Wayans Bros.(All my friends hated this show)

- Sledgehammer

- Mr. Show (HBO)

- Dream On (HBO)

I've posted about the last two before, sorry for repeating.

Edit: btw, BC, have you seen the long version of Bruce Campbell's "Old Spice" commercial? Priceless.

Mr. Show was the greatest sketch comedy ever made...

I would also recommend the before mentioned Ben Stiller show...Bob Odenkirk's first show...also with andy dick and Jeneane Garafolo...killer parody. Also I got the whole season + for only $9.95 new off amazon!

Absolutely, more brilliance from HBO, and it was paired with "Tenacious D"! (Didn't see that movie, I heard it sucked.)

I noticed the Sarah Silverman show is basically all the guys from Mr. Show, only less funny.

I love the way the different Mr.Show scenes would overlap in a way that only Monty Python really did well...It is the ultimate "getting high and watching something funny" DVD and is guarenteed to hook any stoner given a look. All my friends know it and we all quote lines but I guess becuz it was on cable a lot of people didnt see it.

RUDE AWAKENING was funniest, short lived, forgotten comedies out there. Starred Twin Peaks' Sherlilynn Fenn was a recovering alcoholic trying to get her life organized as she keeps falling off the wagon, banging everyone in AA, and dealing with her wealthy pill popping mother.

Then I also loved:
Freaks and Geeks
Dr Katz
Square Pegs
Soap

I'm glad to see you mention "It's Your Move" - a great Jason Bateman sitcom - that I loved even though I just IMDB'd it and it looks like it only had seven episodes. I was trying to remember the title the other day.

Also

Greg the Bunny

The Mr. Hell Show.

Not just comedies, but more a list of stuff I miss from now and years ago.

Duckman
The Critic
Police Squad ("in color!")
News Radio
Tenspeed & Brownshoe
Beavis & Butt-head
Dead Like Me
Futurama
Nowhere Man
The Ren & Stimpy Show

And you can add Deadwood and Sealab 2021 to the list, too.

'The Ben Stiller Show' was actually high quality comedy but I remember id didn't run long. Less than a season, maybe. Janeane Garofalo was a cast member and she weres drop dead gorgeous. Still is.

The short lived, live action, version of The Tick was down-right hilarious. Patrick Warburton was really put on this earth to play that character. Maybe somebody will try to make a full-legnth movie out of it someday soon.

Well, a guy can hope, can't he?

First season only. But, what a season it was.

Same with "Dead Like Me."

Going waaaaaaaaaaay back, the NBC prime-time animation, "What 'til your Father gets home!!"

And, I may be the only one to thinks so, the short-lived "When Things were Rotten."

Thank god for DVDs, I have so many of these shows:

Get a Life (in my DVD player right now: Wallet Boy!)
The Tick (live-action)
Greg the Bunny

I have the whole Mr. Show series, and am not surprised it is popular here, between skits like "Mom and Pop Porn Store" ("Need I remind you that that "Hardcore Anal Action" paid for your braces, young man?"), and "Wycked Scepter" (With porn actress Jeanine in a cameo. In the commentary, David Cross says she became very angry when he ad-libbed lines like "kiss me, you whore!" during the scene).

Duckman was awesome, and needs to come out on DVD, too. It was difficult to catch the actual series when it was running, you had to watch at around 2AM on a Friday. Though watching Rhonda Shear and her breasts in the meantime did ease the pain.

Yeah, USA Up All Night movies. Man, I miss those. Along with MST3K, started my fascination with weird, off the wall, B-movies. I also remember watching Basket Case on that when I was around 8 or so.

Does MST3K count as a comedy nobody watched? I loved that show, but didn't know too many other people who even knew what it was.

Except Snakes knew it was a bad movie and played to the camp effect, though not enough to make it a truly great satire. True MST3K fodder needs to take itself seriously. "House of Wax" with Paris Hilton would have worked well, as would "Battlefield Earth".

For all you "Futurama" fans, Fox has greenlighted new episodes to air next year:
Quote:

During the Simpsons session earlier in the day, Groening had mentioned that, even though he's still very involved with The Simpsons his "day job" is creating the sixteen new episodes of Futurama that will be airing on Comedy Central starting in 2008.

Good news, everyone!

Has anyone seen Frankenhooker? Its a story of love and exploding prostitutes. Basic set up is girlfriend is killed in a lawnmower accident and boyfrind resurects her using parts of dead prostitutes. To get the parts he makes a crack mixture that causes them to explode. Girlfriend turns into a hooker and walks around going "wanna date."

However, "Frankenhooker" is perhaps best known for its unique interactive VHS cover box. When the subway lamp post was pressed by the customer, the box spoke back the line, "Wanna date?" from the film.

Imagine the possibilities for porn... Press the left tit and the covergirl says "wanna cum?" Press the right tit: "Fuck me harder!" Or the ever so popular "Quah, quah, gluck, gluck..." Interactive fun for everyone!

I saw it at a midnight screening in South Philly at least 15 years ago. Good times. Even if I had been sober, I doubt I would remember much of the actual plot, though.

Beleive it or not,"Battlefield Earth"was one of the reasons that MST3K was canceled. Though it was insanely cheap to make,SciFi channel canceled it because they were tightening budgets. Couple days later they announced the purchase of the cable rights to Battlefield Earth for $4million.

The fuckholes.
