As I've been led to understand it, the add on player doesn't have HDMI (until the end of next month) and had weaker audio capabilities. It was a bit of a heated discussion among some of the reviewers awhile back (I advocated letting 360 add on owners use the machine to review while others thought the audio issue was enough to kill the idea-I never had a stake in the matter personally but I'm not an equipment snob).
