Two-way satellite sucks compared to DSL or cable-modem but is still way better than analog telephone.

I almost got one for my RV until I found out it had to be re-aimed and recalibrated every time I moved 20-50 miles (much worse than a TV dish since you're also transmitting to the satellite, not just receiving).

Amateur astronomers like them too since you want your observatory way away from city lights and that means way away from broadband.
