While I could not agree more, she doesn't always see it that way ... and neither does the media. They refer to it as a "branch of Judaism" - so do many internet sites.

There is a tradition that one should not study Kabbalah until one is grounded in Tenach(Bible)/Talmud and mature enough to deal with its concepts. In my mind I haven't reached the level to study it. Kudos to Madonna if she has.



well, the version of Qabalah that Madonna and the like "study" is a sanitized version not unlike Western Yoga or Taijiquan. I mean how many of the "yoga" or "tai chi" instructors here in the western world even have a hint of knowledge of the Vedas or the Tao Te Ching.. i would say a small number. It is a sanitized secular version that they practice without true knowledge of its roots and laws.
