In the UK, we had a reality show called 'SAS: Are you tough enough?' wherein the contestants were put through their paces by a bunch of SAS training instructors.

One of the tasks was killing, skinning, cleaning and cooking a rabbit (or going hungry). It was pretty disturbing seeing one of the instructors petting and stroking the rabbit in his arms to get it calm, and then just break its neck without a second thought. What was worse was that one of the contestants (a fairly posh girl) took the skin off of her rabbit, stuck her hand inside and started doing an impromptu puppet show by using her fingers to move the front paws and the head and making it wave and say hello to fellow contestants.
