there is recklessness and then there is foolishness.

No. Recklessness = Foolishness.

There is taking calculated risks and making decisions on the basis of data and insight. That's part of life and those that judge and act upon this best tend to succeed the most.

Then there is acting without regard to risk. Which is recklessness. While some succeed even beyond those noted above, most end up in the trash heap o' life. But, the anecdotal tales of those that succeed lead other to dive in and keep the heap a'growing!

maybe i mis-served my meaning by saying recklessness. Brashness, fearlessness, adventurous would have served the purpose of my phrase better.

and yeah, some succeed while others fail. But at least those who succeed can truly say they tried, what of the others who lived comfortably out of fear and died filled with regret.

A personal hero of mine is Walt Disney. He was a man who almost never looked at failure as an option. He would be told something would never work, look the person straight in the eye and say... "Then we make it work!" '

However as far as calculated risk goes. Some judge optimistically rather than pessimistically. I look at the positives and say... fuck the negatives, we take them on if they come... it's no use to worry about something if it never happens.

Mind you that doesn't mean that you do not do your best to keep yourself healthy and safe. On the contrary when it comes to matters of health and safe you act proactively in order to prevent worry from ever being needed.

If i eat healthy, exercise regularly and live happily and stress free... should i worry myself with weather or not i will get heart disease?
