I always thought the "Blow Job" scene in the Frank Henenlotter cult classic was the inspiration for Gag Factor. In it, a young man(about 20ish) befriends a creature(picture below) who can get him high, but in return has to take him out to collect brains, which the creature eats(he does this while the guy is high, so the guy don't remember anything.
