I would have preferred that they use MLK's birthday as a holiday for all black leaders who have fought to overcome the american racial divide. What about Charles Hamilton Houston? WEB DuBois?

But, my "guy" is Frederick Douglass. Perhaps my favorite American.

Find out just what a people will submit to, and you have found out the exact amount of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them.

Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe.
