Are you sure the 20-minute check includes DNA? I don't think there is any way to do it without a PCR amplification step, and that requires some effort and time.

I'm really unhappy with the CDC AIDS/HIV web site. It used to be the place to go to avoid all of the misinformation about AIDS on the web. Now I can't find the PCR based HIV tests mentioned at all, much less how long they take or how much amplification is supposed to be used (one million?)
