Thx El G. It is likely I didn't know that since most times people in NY - including me when I was younger - assume ALL hispanics here are from PR. So it never came up.

if you came to Puerto Rico you may be surprised from the great difference from puertorricans from the island and the NY puertorricans (now in all U.S.) most of puertorricans(reggaeton style) in the USA are scumbags like white trash, and other inmigrant trash (not all), its very sadly all them are fucking up the great US country

I work with the pharma industry, which means a lot of visits to PR. I'm always impressed by the level of education and dedication I find among the locals, as well as their love of their little island. "Let me give you a tour! This is where the governor lives! How can you stand to go back, do you see what our weather is like!!".

"Local" Puerto Ricans also like to make a BIG distinction between locals and New York PRs. Locals own 1.2 cars per person, New Yorkers pile 7 into a Ford Escort, etc.

A big plus is the local fashion code. The women, even those working in professional settings, will still feel obligated to wear tight dresses, mini-skirts, low-cut tops, etc. etc. Very distracting, but I won't complain.
