Fucking incredible. I don't think of myself as a boxing fan, but it's amazing how many of those I saw live!
I'm not much of a music person, but the music appears to be very similar to the score playing in the ass-to-ass/arm-cut-off sequence from "Requiem for a Dream".
The MOST FRIGHTENING human being I ever saw was the young George Foreman. He was HUGE and fucking pissed off at the world - not the lovable guy with the grill and the mufflers. He treated Frasier like a toy. [Down goes Frasier! Down goes Frasier!]
Ali, whom I LOVED, outwitted him in Zaire. My dad went to the theatre to see the fight live ["old school" pay-per-view], but I did not go. I thought he was going to DIE - so did the people in his corner.
I loved Tyson - thickest fucking human I have ever had my arm around and he only weighed about 220. He grew up in the same neighborhood as my dad, and I used to see him around often when I lived upstate - he was very approachable. So I felt he was "my guy".
I saw him in person in like 1987 at Glen Falls, NY fighting Joe Frasier's kid Marvis. Tyson was just a pup. KO 1st. Tried to hit him on the way down! Would've killed him! But, it turns out he was just a bully. Once Douglas put him down, he hasn't been the same ...
