I am getting pissed off at HBO's The Sopranos this season. The show seems to get worse and worse every episode. I want more underworld/mob action and less family drama. This season they are adding characters that don't seem to be well thought out like the Steve Buscemi character. I love Steve as an actor but WTF is up with that character.
Just a rant on my part but I was wondering if anyone else feels the way I do about this once proud show.

The show will be gone soon (next season is the last). I'm sure it gets harder and harder to write every season/episode. I agree with you about Steve B's character. The episode with his attempting to open a massage/spa salon followed by his mental collapse all within an hour seemed totally rushed.
Deadwood is a great show though.

I frequently rented the first two seasons of "The Sopranos",for I always enjoyed the combination of family-meets-mob orientated drama that successfully made this series,but got too burned out on this show after the third season(Big Pussy's death,and the rape of Tony's therapist, didn't help make things better,either).
I agree that this show has already had its day in the sun,and that Tony Soprano should fold it up,tube-wise,and retire(as much as I hate to see that finely complexed[and extremely hostile]character go).

I missed the end of last season and kind of stopped watching this season two weeks ago. I actually found the first two seasons to be so-so and especially found Nancy Marchand's performance as Tony's mother to be way over-rated. Plus, the show always had too much pyschotherapy babble and family drama, not enough mobster scheming violence. 2 seasons ago was great with the entrance of Furio the wop death machine, but that season got panned big time. I'll prolly tune back in but I'm bettin' that Tony and Carmela will be back together eventually and Christopher will have to kill his fink piece of ass wife once it's revealed she's been ratting to the feds. oh well, we'll have to wait and see.

I've seen about 5 episodes of that show and find the whole premise bogus. Mobster in therapy? Mobsters agonizing over moral dilemmas? Mobsters bourgeois routines? The whole show is obviously written by Ivy League kids, probably not Italian I might add.

Just saw this week's episode and it was the worst yet. C'mon that broad who banged JFK? totally absurd. Hocking an emmy, yeah sure, Chase covets emmys... What about these cheezy fake Italian names this season? Blundetto & Leotardo? How about el stupido?

Alright, I'm glad I am not the only one who doesn't like this show anymore because with all these shills for it in the media I was beginning to think I was nuts.

The end hit of the hooker by Tony B. was just about the only mob shit on there.

Well, I did like seeing Carmela's boobs there for a blink.

Better yet, Christopha's squeeze Adrianna's nips and ass.

Ok, you guys are right tonight was another shit episode, I guess I was in a more forgiving mood last week and thought they were turning a corner to better shows......WRONG.. it was back to sucksville tonight. At least Deadwood was excellent again.

Sopranos has sucked for the last 2-3 seasons, with a few good episodes as exceptions.

Well, this season on Sopranos turned out to be mildly interesting. I'd say the first 75% of the episodes were just trash, culminating in the dream episode (3rd to last I believe). It was probably a good year if you are intensely interested i nthe story of the show, the crime-side story I mean, as this season they did focus alot on the business relationship between Johnny Sac and the Soprano family, and the whole controversy of power struggle after Big Carmine's death.

Anyways, Chris' girlfriend getting wacked out was good stuff, and as we all new Buscemi was gonna get it... And the Johnny Sac family bust at the end might make for some interesting plot stuff next year.

I am please that Tony is becoming more of an unlikeable sociopath. I am also amused that Carmella's character is being properly explored as a greed-filled needy worthless user. Even though Tony is scum and treats her like crap, once she realized she wasnt gonna get a real jackpot because of Tony's sabotage with the lawyers and hidden illegal income, she was willing to look past his scummy ways and take him back.

She is not the "good person" that people make her out to be. This is good, but unfortunately, I don't think in the last season she will get her just deserts. A proper end for her would be ending up destitute.

The season finale was disappointing. Tony whacking his cousin was expected. No big surprises there. Hope season 6 is stronger than this past season. The only other show, which I think is atually better is The Shield. So far it has strong writting and excellent performances. Its so good that Cletus Van Damme choose a name off the show for his handle name.

Well, I think we could predict Carmela's return to Tony. She's making him pay with the lot/house idea , but in the long run she loves family & money. Also, there's a realization that she really couldn't do any better than Tony. Adriana's demise was inevitable, too. for several seasons she was always a piece of ass eye candy I'd like to see, but this season & last she started geting to be pathetic and annoying. While Tony is displaying more of his psychotic side the strange thing is with his family he's grown more affectionate. Disfunctional as he his and deranged as he's getting he's actually trying to be a more understanding/caring individual, but that's the irony the show as developed from the beginning. yet, Tony FINALLY seemed like the big boss in the last episode. Unfortunately, Paulie Walnuts and Silvio look like total cartoons now and I'm not buying 'em anymore. Van Zandt was always a weakness the show had just to get a Jersey rep. Christopha is the most intriguing character now I think. I just don't tink Tony would be shrugging his shoulders over the foreshadowing AJ might be a fairy. Also, the lame song plugging is getting annoying during the ending credits that we must suffer through to see what's gonna happen next week. Lastly, too bad they punked out Furio... blah-blah-blah shut fuck up, fuhgeddaboutit...maybe the world will end before the last season starts in 18 months

Although I thought this season as a whole sucked big blue donkey shlong, I have to say I did enjoy the last 2 episodes. Even though I wanted to see tony and crew go to war with Ny, I can understand why they didn't. 18 months is being generous I think, he always says the next season will start in ? and then it gets pushed back so we will just have to wait and see. I just wish that after that long a wait they could come up with a whole season of good shows not just 2 or 3.

I was of total belief that the Sopranos would end next season with the fall of Tony and the family. I was ready to bet that this would come by way of Johnny Sac and Brooklyn. Sac getting nabbed by the Feds was a real bummer as I found his character interesting and that of a true foe/advisary to Tony.
If you watch this season closely, you'll notice (in my opinion) real attempts to portray the family and the business in a truly dark light. When I say dark, I mean having characters do truly shitty things sans the glamour aspect and abandoning any sort of 'street justice'. I guess it seemes like they're showing this kind of lifestyle for what it really is.
Pauly and Chris killing the waiter, Tony B. beating the shit out of the Korean, Adriana obviously and finally Tonys neglect of Carmela and family.
I still have a strong hunch that it will all end with Tony and Co. on the bottom.
