Try it. Genuinely weird, smoky taste. You can't knock it back too hard, though, because it gets a bit of a medicinal taste to it after a while.

No one eats peat. The "taste" they refer to is that of the smell of peat smoke, which has been cut and burned for fuel for hundreds probably a couple thousand years. The peat in a good Scotch Whiskey comes from the smoke of the burning peat used either to cook the mash or to cure the barrels it ages in.

i preview my replies all the time, partly because 'preview reply' is checked by default and partly because i am a compulsive proofreader.
i drink cheap scotch because i am a student.

I allways keep the 18y around but at $140 it may be a bit pricey.
