James, does John Hannah still ramble to work downtown Boston every morning? He was at the Pru in the late 1980s, a couple years after he retired...

John Hannah was, by all accounts and opinions from players of ALL Eras, and especially HIS Era, the Best Guard to ever play the game....and he could also play the other two positions as well in a pinch. Hannah probably saved Steve "My Neck is Fine, It's always bent that way since I was 12...<huff> OK FINE! I will sign the waiver relieving the Patriots of any obligation to pay for my rehab and wheelchair like Daryl Stingley has, so Fuck you Billy Sullivan" Grogan's life.

John Hannah, in Super Bowl 20 against Da Bears, was the only player on New England whom Richard Dent/Singletary/Fencik and the rest of "the crew" actually respected. My only fond memeory of that Super BLOW was watching the entire New England Offensive line get obliterated play after play after play....except for Hannah. He'd be 3 or 4 yards IN FRONT of the line of scrimmage while the other 20-21 players (minus the 2 or 3 whom hannah kept grounded in FRONT of him) would be 10 - 12 yards back behind the original line PILED where Tony Eason last shit his pants watching "The Fridge" lumber towards him unopposed.

John Hannah, Ladies and Gentlemen. Super INTELLIGENT too, 4.0 Finance Major out of 'Bama, helped Forest Gump pass Non Euclidean Geometry, so I heard...
