I am a very new poster and my ID is RVitello.

I am writing in regard to the behavior of Moderator Scipio in the above thread.

I have waited a day so that I would not be over-influence by my anger.

Certainly there is no argument that the moderator was well within rights to close the thread since rain's complaints and thus my queries were not within the strict definination of Etiquette.

But the tone used and comments that were made by Scipio were out of line.


In cancelling the thread the moderator wrote:

"IF YOU KIDS hope to continue to be allowed to PLAY here, I'd suggest you learn a little bit of respect for the rules for the forum, and the mods' moderation."

I find the condescending tone demeaning and offensive. There was no reason to be so glib. It was obvious, though Rain & I were wrong, that we were passionate about our positions and statement. While it was not the correct forum for such a discussion insulting language was not appropriate or appriciated. And, making light of people passionate about their position can only incite anger. A person experienced with such confrontations should know to refrain from such aggitations.


Scipio than became cryptically insulting.

"I should point out that brand-new members who pretty much introduce themselves to the forum by attempting to engage the forum mods in an argument aren't doing themselves any favours as it does come across as rather questionable, and transparent."

What does "doing themselves any favors?" even mean?
What kind of threat is it?
Is this acceptable to you?
Is this an appropriate "welcome"?

While engaging the moderators is not appropriate why does it make me rather questionable?
What am I suspected of?

All I can even imagine is ¿law efforcement?

I can't even being to understand transparent.
Transparent to show what?
That I tried to understand what Rain was unhappy about?
That I disagreed on the possible closure based upon a reference to some other forum?
Please explain?

What is Scipio even talking about?

I understand from his post that s/he has been a "mod" for a very long time, but that should not excuse this type of response.

If nothing else I got to vent about these issues.
