The most important thing to do is avoid any assumptions. It's really important to quickly quarantine and test all of Darren's contacts. But it's also important to do likewise with Lara's.

Right now there's no way to know where the outbreak source is - it appears the margins of error in the science are just too large to say one or the other. Standard practice is to monitor all contacts along all potential sources looking for more infections until some are found that can definitely ruled before/after.

Even that may not prove a source. Nobody ever proved the source in the Marc Wallice case although the evidence points to Marc pretty clearly. The case of the dentist in Florida received a lot of attention from a lot of top-tier people and they never came close to being able to prove who started it.

Anyway, my point in stressing that it might be Lara is not to shift blame for the cause but rather to point out that there may be more than one "leak" in the system: even if Darren is proven the source of the outbreak that doesn't mean AIM shouldn't look at the potential problem from bringing in someone to work with no more than ELISA.

When a pipe springs a leak you fix all the leaks you can find, not just the biggest. And you fix all the leaks at once because that's easier than shutting down the pipe each time there's a leak: any change in the industry with respect to importing foreign hookers will be easier to do now than later (especially if Lara is proven not the source but instead just a potential source that didn't happen this time).
