but sports like little league have mainstream credibility as "real" sports that mma does not have. if someone dies in a boxing ring tonight, boxing will go on. it would be a major blow to mma if the same thing happened. (despite the fact that boxing is much more dangerous than mma) so many people still believe that ufc is little more than barfights televised on ppv. a death will only reinforce their beliefs that it is just a barbaric spectacle. right or wrong, it's something to be worried about.
