as we all saw today, even a typo can swell into a rumor that can and up printed as fact in another country.

while it may not be the cause of the outbreak as things currently stand, i would personally still support a quarentine for anoyone who was out of the country. shooting condomless in brazil is irresponsible... and more than one person or company has done this. but now it will be seen differently, whatever the outcome of all this might be.

i was at AIM today getting my newest test and spoke with them for almost an hour and a half, and to repeat again. ONLY darren and lara have come back positive so far.

please do not jump to ANY conclusions until ALL the facts are presented. one thing is for certain from what i was told today. we may never know if it started with darren or lara, the viral load tests just are coming out too close to tell.

Darren is not another Marc Wallice. as far as we know he did nothing maliciously, he never forged a test and should not be treated as if he has.

AIM has handled the situation very well.... before anyone criticises them... think about where we could be right now if they did not exist. while they have walked through this scenario before, this is the first time in the history of AIM they have truely dealt with the real thing. they should be applauded for their efforts.

knee-jerk reactions are natural... i had plenty too. and looking back it was irresponsible, but you have to step outside yourself and look at reality. wait for the facts and see what truth you can.

i know several things i wont say because it would only cause more rumor, and that is the last thing we need right now. but, don't be so quick to blame darren. it is WAY too early to play the blame game.

the only other fact i will give is, what i said before about Patrice using an ELISA as recently as monday. she was one of the canadian trio that also included Lara Coxx (Roxx).

I agree completely with the quarantine for people working outside of the country. You can't be as certain with tests from Also HIV tests should only be accepted from legitimate places. Also all work related sex should be well documented if something like this happens again. Of course this can't help for people having sex outside of work or for the many people in the industry who escort outside of work - there are a lot of people with HIV in USA
The safest option would be that everyone have a test before every job they do but even then you would have to hope that they don't have sex outside of work in between the test and the job

Maybe monthly testing still and then use Orasure before each shoot. Yea, that costs money, but its worth it.

I think this might be a good time for the industry to focus on what can be done to keep this from happening again, or at least prolong the amount of time between outbreaks, rather than pointing fingers. I'm pretty sure that the folks who have acted questionably or downright screwed up are aware of their errors. Instead of abusing them, maybe we should wait and see if they choose to redeem themselves.
Then again, I'm a newbie with less than a dozen scenes who couldn't stand living in LA....so maybe the vets know that this won't change anything and I should just go shake my ass for a living and shut up. Or post some nice nekked pics....

I think given that noone has tested HIV positive for ages that its probably the shoots in other countries that are the biggest danger and people should be tested as soon as they arrive back from overseas. Guys can always wear condoms as well
