Or an Israeli. Saddam wrote checks to "martyrs" who fought against Israel. I wouldn't care, but his subsidy probably got Americans visiting there injured or killed.

I recall them not getting it after all. They backed out and sold their interests to another firm. In any case, US intellignece agencies supported the deal. I didn't personally, so I won't wager too much keyboard wear & tear defending it.
