When American athletes kick ass in marginal sports that the rest of America couldn't give a shit about it makes me smile. That's why Lance's dominance in the Tour de France was so entertaining. It pissed off all the European bicycling fanatics that an American always won and America didn't really care. Same with that Olympic skating incident. The S. Koreans went apeshit and most of America was like, whatever, it's ice skating.



I SOOOOOOO wanted the US to somehow come away with the World Cup when the made that run in 2002. How cool would it be to win the title the whole world would KILL FOR and have the country give a big YAAAAAAAAAAAWN.





I agree that would have been funny. And I always fall for the hype that our team has improved greatly from past World Cup teams then when you watch them against European and South American teams you realize, ain't gonna happen.
