Hereditary Arab rulers, their pockets overflowing with oil cash, decided to promote the notion that the Muslims need to "return to their roots" and thus divert their attention from the widening knowledge/technology gap. That was easier and cheaper than competing. And, having “in-house priests” comes in handy when questions of divine right come up.

Year after year the Muslims fall further behind the World. This isolates them even more and feeds their hatred born of inadequacy and insecurity. The enemy becomes anyone not in isolation with them. The enemy has become anyone who is different.

Name a country in the world where Muslims are a peacefully integrated substantial minority willing to "play well with others"?

Kenya? The Philippines? Sri Lanka? Russia? Tanzania? Cyprus? FRANCE?

How long until Michigan is on this list?

Name a Muslim dominated country with a thriving minority community of non-Muslims free to practice their own beliefs?

Lebanon? The Sudan?

In fact most HAVE NO substantial non-Muslim minority!

Turkey has some diversity. But, they cleared out the Anatolian Christians, didn’t they? Or, do you believe the deniers of the 1915 Armenian Holocaust?!?. This very second, Turkish tanks are gassed, ready, itching to crush the Iraqi Kurds because a free "Kurdistan" might interfere with repressing Kurds in Turkey.

IRAQ?!? They're killing each other over who has authority over Islam after Muhammad's death!! That’s one hell of a long angry probate!!

Look at the region:
Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Israel - all created from colonial mandates in the 1946-50 timeframe. Why is Israel so far advanced and the others so far behind? Israel is a world leader in patents. Jordan is up there in debt. With the Gulf oil money the region should have developed technology on par with India.

Let's look at India. The Muslim Mughals ruled Indian Hindus for centuries. But, the prospect of living as a minority was so abhorrent to the Muslims they ripped the country into what has become 3 states.

India is thriving. What happened in Pakistan and Bangladesh?

And, the common "innocent” Muslim in the street? A shrieking puppet!!
