The George Washington Carver story is a myth- much like the real GW chopping down the cherry tree or him skipping a coin across the Delaware River.






Myth or not, the US used his "legend" and likeness for our own propoganda purposes. He had half dollar coins in his likeness minted in the 1950s while we were battling in Korea and far left-wing organizations were more and more popular with African-Americans because of their ALLEGED positon on race.
