Keep in mind that there isn't any evidence to say whether Darren infected Lara, or Lara infect Darren, or someone else is responsible for this.

Darren may have made a mistake shooting in potentially dubious circumstances in Brazil but that's not necessarily the same as causing the current outbreak.
