the report on AVN kinda makes it seem like they are shrugging off the scondary list.... i pray they don't..... that would be highly irresponsible, and would only serve to provide more fuel for sick schmucks like Mike South who is gloting over this like its a victory.
You mean Mike "Biomed Expert" South who recently made this statement:
Quote:
Truth is the PCRDNA test is NOT the end all test, matter of fact it is far LESS accurate than the ELISA, which is why the CDC and the AIDS Foundation DO NOT RECOGNIZE it as a valid screen for HIV.
For example, some who has HIV and is taking protease inhibitor drugs can very well come up negative on the PCR DNA test.
While it is true that negative test on a PCR amplified sample doesn't mean there aren't reservoirs elsewhere, a positive does mean it's present, and negative does mean there's none in this sample.
What bothers me most is that people have a lot of trust in these corner-store biomed labs. The test operator isn't a research scientist getting data to publish a paper; it's probably a minimum-wage high school dropout working against a quota. AIM needs to careful to rotate between labs.
Even the best lab technique can get a false negative by mislabeling samples, etc. I’d want to look back to the February test and see primary-contact performers with two negative tests, from two samples a month apart, tested at two different test labs.
