The elderly Brooklyn woman who hid her husband's corpse in her apartment for three years had been sharing her bed with the skeletal remains, police sources said yesterday.

"She slept right next to him," a police source said. "It's a little disturbing. His bones were right there."

The sources said Joanne Iversen, 73, took naps alongside the remains of her 75-year-old husband, Frank Iversen, but did not sleep with them at night.

Joanne Iversen checked herself into Bellevue Hospital's psych ward yesterday where she was being evaluated. Cops have not charged her with a crime.

The city medical examiner was unable to determine yesterday how or exactly when the elderly man died. Further tests will be conducted during the next week.

The skeletal remains were discovered early Tuesday when Iversen's estranged 38-year-old son, Paul Iversen, came home to visit his father for the first time in several years. After finding the remains in the Bay Ridge apartment, he convinced his mom to go to the cops.
