you eat mushrooms dont you?
Actually no but that’s coincidence.
There are fungi that grow on crops and fruits. These aren’t mushrooms or toadstools. A quick search shows candidiasis, histoplasmosis and sporotrichosis as examples of diseases I’m thinking of. I’m not sure which of those can be caused by eating something carrying fungi.
The reason I rarely-to-never eat mushrooms is that I happen not to use them in cooking and I never eat at restaurants or drive-throughs. After bloating to 60 lbs overweight last year I made all of the usual promptly-broken dieting promises. The one thing I did do was avoid McFood for a month and promptly dropped 10 lbs with no other effort. I’ve since stuck to that (no delivered pizzas or frozen TV dinners either). Avoiding McFood isn’t going to get me back to slim & trim but it may be enough to avoid becoming the next Ron Jeremy.
I do buy fruits & vegetables at Whole Foods instead of the local generic supermarket. But I consider it more trade-off than cure-all.
